Christopher Green describes his two new limited editions as inhabiting a heightened, idealised version of reality. His fascinating creative process begins with the taking of numerous photographs from slightly different angles and in slightly varied lighting; this allows him to ‘see round corners’ and achieve a more convincing, apparently 3d image. Rather than creating faithful reproductions of these photographs, he uses them as reference points for his alternative reality to reveal an unexpected or previously unseen beauty or presence. Green has had a successful career as an illustrator with clients including Penguin books, Saatchi and Saatchi and Paul Smith, and has created everything from TV credits to best-selling book covers and West End Theatre posters.
